LINEMAN TRAINEE

A LINEMAN TRAINEE is required to assist in the operation, construction, and maintenance of the Cooperative’s electric power system.  Some of the duties include, but are not limited to, climbing power line poles, lifting up to approximately 100 pounds, walking, pulling, digging, hammering, bending, operating power operated equipment, driving pickups and trucks, and working near high voltage power lines in almost any weather condition.  The successful applicant for this position will be required to pass a pre-employment physical and DOT drug/alcohol screening AND HAVE IN THEIR POSSESSION A VALID CLASS A CDL DRIVERS LICENSE WITH AN AIR BRAKE ENDORSEMENT.  The successful applicant will also be required to establish and maintain their permanent residence to be within a 20 minute response time to the headquarters office located at the address listed above.  This must be achieved within 12 months of hire date.

It is highly desirable for an applicant to have formal education beyond the high school level; however, a high school education or the equivalent is required.
