A) Eligibility:
- Applicant must be a high school senior who is planning to enter a college or university in the state of Texas in the summer or fall during the year of application.
- Applicant must be the child of a Lamb County Electric Cooperative member who has been a member for at least one year prior to the scholarship application form due date of Thursday, April 11, 2024.
If the parent/legal guardian of the applicant only has a corporation membership, the parent/legal guardian must be the Authorized Representative on the LCEC Membership Agreement of said corporation.
- Applicant must be a graduating high school senior from either: Amherst, Anton, Levelland, Littlefield, Olton, Sudan, Whiteface, Whitharral or a “State Approved” home school program or a "transfer" high school. Applicant must reside with a parent/legal guardian who is a LCEC member and meets eligibility criteria #2.
- Applicant must include two letters of reference from a teacher and or high school counselor. In the case of “home school” student, letters may be submitted from program leaders. Consideration may include, but not limited to, leadership skills, extracurricular activities, scholastic standing, and financial need.
- Applicant must include a copy of high school transcript.
- Applicant must include a written essay.

- Application and supporting documentation must be in original form, complete and delivered or mailed (USPS) to the Cooperative by 5:00 pm on Thursday, April 11, 2024.

- Recipient(s) will be chosen by an outside committee of three. This committee is not affiliated in any way with Lamb County Electric Cooperative. The decision of this committee will be final. Winning recipient(s) will be notified at the proper time.
- The LCEC scholarship(s) is $1,500.
- The recipient must be enrolled in a Texas college or university as a full-time student and maintain at least a 2.0 grade point average. In the event recipient is not a full time student or does not maintain a 2.0 grade point average during the first semester, the second half of the scholarship for the second semester will be forfeited.
- Proof of enrollment in each semester will be required before any portion of the scholarship is awarded.
- The first $750 of the scholarship will be awarded directly to the recipient during the third week of the first fall semester.
- The second $750 of the scholarship will be awarded directly to the recipient during the third week of the first spring semester.
- Scholarship consideration will only be granted to the applicant who has met all the criteria stated above and considered eligible.
